Sandilands - National Trust Visitor Centre
Jonathan Hendry Architects were appointed by the National Trust to design and oversee the construction of a new visitor centre at Sandilands, on the site of a former Golf Club. The site’s location is nestled on the edge of the Lincolnshire coastline, looking out across the North Sea, and beyond to a new nature reserve.
The Project
The National Trust is embarking on an exciting project to transform the former golf course at Sandilands.
Creating and providing new habitats for a variety of wildlife, especially migrating birds like black-tailed godwit, spotted redshank and spoonbills, along with breeding birds such as snipe, lapwings and oystercatchers.
A new dedicated visitor centre and cafe will provide a physical presence on the nature reserve and provide visitors and the local community with a place to gather throughout the year.
The project is due to start on site early Spring 2025.
